Nic Palmer is an Australian singer-songwriter and visual artist originally from rural New South Wales and now based on the state's North Coast. Drawing inspiration from childhood memories, rural landscapes and the stories that shape us, Nic creates music that is reflective, emotionally honest and artistically adventurous. Blending elements of alternative rock, indie, country-punk and contemporary singer-songwriter music, she has developed a distinctive creative voice that bridges music, painting and visual storytelling.

As both a musician and multidisciplinary artist, Nic approaches every release as a complete creative work. Her songs are complemented by original artwork, photography and video, creating immersive projects that reflect her passion for authentic storytelling and artistic exploration.

Nic's songwriting has earned national recognition as a seven-time finalist in the Australian Songwriting Awards, including three Top 30 placements, while her music continues to receive radio airplay throughout Australia and internationally. Alongside her music career, she has exhibited her visual and digital artwork in Australia and overseas, maintaining an active creative practice from the NSW North Coast.

Since the release of her early recordings, Nic has steadily built an evolving catalogue of original music, including the EP I Made a Portrait, A Different Kind of Grunge (2023), Red Balloon (2024), and the recent singles Are We Cool? and I Got Mail. Fan favourites including Lost by the Ocean and I Got Mail continue to drive streaming across platforms including Spotify and Apple Music, introducing new listeners to her unique blend of heartfelt songwriting and alternative country-punk influences.

Recorded at Mad House Records in Leadville, Colorado, Unmasking Eyes captures Nic's evolving artistic direction, merging the energy of country-punk with indie rock and deeply personal songwriting. The project reflects both her Australian roots and the influence of recording in the dramatic landscape of the American Rocky Mountains. Throughout her recording career, Nic has collaborated with an accomplished team of producers whose collective experience spans internationally recognised artists and award-winning recordings.

Her EP I Made a Portrait was produced by Brett Hamlyn, who has continued to collaborate with Nic across multiple releases and is currently co-producing her forthcoming album. The single Are We Cool? was produced by Dan Frizza, one of Australia's leading producers, engineers and mixers. Dan's credits include work with Tones And I, Amy Shark, Ruel, Delta Goodrem, Boy George, Noah Kahan, King Princess, Gurrumul and The Whitlams, contributing to numerous ARIA Award-winning recordings and hundreds of millions of streams worldwide.

The album Unmasking Eyes was produced by Tim Stroh and co-produced by Scott McKenzie of the Austin, Texas alternative rock band Minus Grace. Tim also produced the album's lead single, I Got Mail, bringing decades of international studio experience to the project, while Scott contributed his distinctive alternative rock perspective through songwriting, arrangement and production.

Nic is currently completing a brand-new album titled “Forgot to Chew”, due for release in 2026, once again collaborating with Scott McKenzie and Brett Hamlyn. The project continues her artistic evolution while remaining true to the thoughtful songwriting and creative authenticity that have become her signature.

Nic's music has been featured through the Australian Music Radio Airplay Project (Amrap), receiving community radio support across Australia, while also gaining attention through Local Sounds Radio's New Music Drop feature highlighting Northern Rivers artists. Internationally, her music has been showcased through independent music discovery platforms, including recognition as Concert Monkey's "Deuce Act of the Day."

Critics have praised Nic's work for its authenticity and originality. Amrap described one of her releases as "a live rock 'n' roll feel pop song with a catchy melody and deeper meaning," while Local Sounds Radio highlighted her songwriting as "considered, poetic, and sometimes a little bit punk or off the wall." Creative publications have also recognised her multidisciplinary approach, noting that she "blends poetic storytelling with raw honesty" through music, painting and visual media.
