Born in Quirindi, NSW, Australia, in 1988, Nic Palmer’s painting practice began in high school, where she completed 4 paintings for visual art in the HSC that were selected for ArtExpress in 2006. She went on to complete a Bachelor of Visual Arts at Sydney College of the Arts (SCA) and a Post-Grad certificate in Visual Arts at the Australian National University. During her time at SCA, Nic received the Fauvette Loureiro Memorial Artist’s Scholarship and travelled to Wales for 6 months to attend the Cardiff School of Design. Nic’s notable achievements in the arts also include International residences in New York, Morocco and Ireland, and over 15 years of experience exhibiting in Australia. Finding inspiration from around the world in galleries, educational institutions, on the street, online, and in printed form, Nic gravitates toward traditional painting styles of expressionism and representation that communicate an artist’s raw, personal thoughts and opinions on topics such as psychology, society and culture.
